The AV Tech is responsible for the set-up, operation, maintenance and repair, storage and transport of equipment used to enhance live events. Responsible for the installation, operation and troubleshooting of the AV streaming and broadcast infrastructure of *** Tower, supporting 80 conference rooms, 25 Executive offices, the 200 seat HD theater, and the full broadcast TV studio. Events supported by the team include in-house, outsourced, on-site, and off location, averaging over 2,000 events per year.
Assists with operation and maintenance of Studio 57 equipment, including editing, dubbing, videography and camera operation.
This position reports to the Director of Audio Visual Services
Essential Functions - Set up an operate equipment such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment.
- Record meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust amplifiers and other technical support.
- Provide technical support for live meetings, presentations, conferences, teleconferences, webinars and distance learning classes including coordination of graphics and connectivity.
- Work closely with *** executives and Board Members as well as with the Corporate Communications team on all events including executive meetings and conferences, celebrity and corporate events.
- Provide expertise to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise for ad hoc or scheduled meetings requiring AV technology.
- Maintain technical knowledge and expertise regarding functionality and maintenance of new equipment, providing training on operating and troubleshooting equipment and new technology to AV Technicians.
- Manage equipment inventory, recommending purchases and rentals.
- Install, remove, repair, replace and inspect AV equipment.
- Identify and resolve malfunctions for AV equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones and speakers.
- May also operate, edit, copy, all digital video formats
- Assist with the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Studio 57 equipment.
- Track inventory of equipment and order supplies, avoiding shortages for on demand need.
- Ensure the safety and security of equipment through storage and transportation.
Competencies - 2+ Years of Experience. College Degree or Equivalent Experience.
- Expert knowledge of current and new of AV equipment and technology.
- Video production knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to maintain calm presence and trouble-shoot issues as they arise.
- Works well independently and on teams.
- Maintains positive attitude in a fast-paced environment and over long shoots.
- Must be flexible with working hours to support events as needed.
