Earlier this year I took a job at company called Duplication Media. I found out about the company after my Mom got my baby videos converted from tape to DVD. While our most common service is VHS to DVD transfer, we are capable of doing much more than that. We can take old 8mm films, develop them, then put them on DVD. We also can take almost any kind of tape (Digital 8, Hi8, VHS-C, VHS, MiniDV, BETA, etc) and put it on DVD.
We also provide a lot of audio services as well. We can take casette tapes or reel to reel and put them on CD. We also do audio editing. We scan developed still photos, or we can scan negative 35mm film slides. Video editing and slideshows are another service we offer. Duplication Media is flexible, reliable and capable of completing any media service you can think of. If we can’t, we find a way.
It is easily the most interesting job I’ve ever had. You never know who is going to come in the door, or what they are going to bring in. The most common item brought in are old family tapes, especially of babies or children growing up. People also bring in old films, which we outsource for development. The most recent notable project was when a man brought in pictures and videos of him and his family. I didn’t directly work on the project but when we watched the final product, it looked as if his wife had cancer. He had us create a picture/video slideshow for their wedding anniversary. It was a truly riveting experience, and the customer loved it. Hopefully we made a product that had an impact on someones life.
Thats a part of video production that I love. Being able to capture or bring back good memories for people. It makes me feel good when I can impact someones life in a good way. If you have any media duplication needs give us a call or stop by the store!
