Managing Producer (salaried full time)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Managing Producer to oversee day-to-day operations both in office and on set. This is an in Office position, not remote. The position will require working directly with the CEO/Talent with the goal of taking the channel to the next level and beyond. Candidate must be proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities while having a collaborative spirit. You are able to bring balance to a team of creatives and all that entails, while bringing out the magic within them. Both on-set and field experience are required. You will be tasked with bringing the thoroughness of traditional production organization to a Creator based content company.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Planning and coordinating Main Channel production shoots and editorial schedules. You will ultimately become the CEO and Talents right hand colleague. Freeing up their time to focus on production and post creative.
• Implementing proper production documentation including, NDAs, filming releases, COIs etc.
• Building a centralized folder structure for all production documentation to be shared with team.
• Vetting third party vendors and maintaining those relationships that are key to our business.
• Have the ability to take our current staff to new levels by helping them cultivate much needed growth in terms of better practices, protocols etc. while maintaining a non-toxic work environment.
• Perform yearly and/or quarterly staff reviews in tandem with CEO.
• Creating/Managing Shoot budgets, creative approvals, cash flow reconciliation, and communication those to CEO.
• Working with Production & Post crew from ideation to production and edit wrap to help each project be the best that it can be. We really want you to take ownership of these projects. Help them stay on schedule through filming and edit.
• This will be an on set and in office role. Being about to balance those two things is a huge part of this role so time management and interpersonal skills will be key.
• When necessary, help hire freelance and full-time roles as the company grows and changes. This includes participating in potential contract negotiations and hopefully not often, but being able to manage contract and employee terminations when necessary.
• When called upon by CEO help manage making sure Brand integrations are tracked and met while filming and that those negotiated talking points are filmed.
• Actively checking in on your team to make sure you’re tracking their status while also helping to maintain a healthy work environment.
• Though often shoots are in studio when a location is required, it will be your duty to research and obtain filming permits and insurance when needed.
• Maintaining communication with camera crew to make sure they have equipment maintained and in working condition. And helping procure new equipment when needed either by purchasing or renting, whichever is more cost effective.
• Lead company meetings to discuss upcoming shoots, production needs etc.
• Comfort with producing projects that will take the team overseas and all that entails including, international travel arrangements, permitting, being familiar with local laws, hiring local crew and fixers, understanding carnets and their requirements per country, obtaining international drivers permits etc.
• As with any production schedules sometimes they can vary depending on location avails etc. We will always work to have standard weekly operating hours but both knowing and having a willingness to work odd hours and weekends as needed is a must. Being present on posting days until posting is complete is critical for channel success.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, or related field would be great but not mandatory.
• Previous experience producing and/or Production managing YouTube is extremely important. We are open to those outside of YouTube but having this experience will mean you know the slight nuance that differs from traditional markets.
• Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics, or social media insights platforms or the ability to learn.
• Having a general understanding for YouTube and what is trending.
• Has an up-to-date passport or the ability to acquire one upon hiring.
• Local to Raleigh North Carolina or willing to relocate to the area. (Must work in office M-F)
