*** Mornings is seeking a hard-working, creative, and enterprising producer with strong research skills and exceptional script writing experience to join the team. Responsibilities will include the ability to cover a variety of stories including investigations, consumer reporting, politics, entertainment, arts, and culture features. The ideal candidate should also be willing to pitch in on day-of-air segments during breaking news situations. Strong feature writing experience is a necessity. The ideal candidate will have a firm command of journalistic standards and a keen attention to detail. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and a collaborative member of a newsroom. Willingness to travel is a must, and this candidate should have extensive experience in the field including the ability to shoot/act as second camera.
This role is primarily responsible for producing feature pieces for *** Mornings but may also be called upon to write and produce day-of-air packages. They must have a keen eye in the field and in the edit room, and possess a strong proficiency in story structure, visual graphics, and elements. Candidates will need to share examples of pieces that show both writing and shooting experience.
Skills/experience - 5 years producing experience in a professional newsroom preferred.
- Original scripting experience is a must. Must be an excellent writer with good oral communication skills.
- Must be able to plan for and help a correspondent prep for in-depth interviews
- Experience operating cameras and shooting pieces required.
- Must have proven news judgment and experience with breaking news and live shots.
- Experience with high-profile, multi-camera interviews and live remotes preferred.
- Experience editing is preferred
- Experience with integrated marketing in the news space is a plus.
- Must understand how to tell stories through different mediums, including social platforms
- Must be a team player with a positive outlook. Open to mentoring less experienced producers.
- Ability to travel and work an adaptable schedule when needed to cover other shifts and breaking news.
- Must possess a driver's license and be willing to drive
- Thrives in fast paced and time-critical situations. Ability to multi-task is essential.
- Degree or equivalent experience in broadcast journalism or related field preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 140,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
