Job Description

TheAssistant Manager, Entertainment Operations - Costume Operationsis responsible for assisting the Entertainment Costume Operations Manager with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Costume Department, including all aspects of front and back of house operations. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in managing finances, resolving operational challenges, reviewing and/or revising process and procedure when necessary and addressing guest and/or team member issues. While the primary focus will be supporting the scope for ongoing Entertainment costume operations and events, there may be some responsibility in also assisting with project management and short or mid-range planning and preparations.

Ensure that the Universal *** Hollywood vision, mission & values, and Guest Ser *** Philosophy & Standards are understood and supported across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

Cultivate and lead a culture that promotes a professional, collaborative, inspiring, fun and teamwork-driven work setting for all employees.
Oversee the daily operation of costume venues and areas, including managing staff and process/procedures and providing necessary support for the operations. This includes resolving operational and technical issues within the venues/areas, as well as handling employee and/or guest situations.

Provide direction, development, and support to supervisors, leads and hourly employees. Communicate feedback and address performance issues, providing recognition, coaching and/or discipline when appropriate and complete employee evaluations annually. Assist in hiring, training, and development of staff.
Responsible to ensure an annual updated and accurate SOP/GOP available to all employees. Ensure that all compliance training/requirements appropriate to area/element are developed, updated and completed in accordance with annual plan and deadlines.
Help develop and create weekly work scheduling templates for employees.
Plan and implement action plans for the department's future success for employee satisfaction (TSAT) and guest satisfaction (GSAT), including training programs, workforce planning, and rewards and recognition programs.

Manage Employee and Guest Service:

Maintain and oversee daily operations and staffing requirements at the venues in accordance with park hours and projections.
Manage and oversee the stocking of supplies and ordering as needed per venue/area.
Maintain up-to-date distribution list and contact information for Costume Operation Team. Ensure department partners (i.e., HR, Workforce Planning, etc.) have updated information regularly.
Assure that show schedules and employee schedules are accurate and up to date.
Maintain accurate employee coaching tracking log.
Provide continuous feedback to employees and answer questions or concerns within 72 hours of notification.
Keep track of vendor contact information and forge/maintain positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
Coordinate shipping/receiving of costumes, parts, pieces and accessories in support of overall business as needed and appropriate.
Collaborate with the Director to create and maintain the department budget in accordance with company procedures. Follow all company procedures for using purchase orders and submitting invoices and receipts.
Ensure that all employee investigations are closed out within 15 days, allowing HR and LR time to review and approve final IR.
Investigate and close out all injury and illness report within 72 hours of notification.
Ensure that vendors are paid within NET terms agreements.
Ensure that the Employee of the Month initiative is delivered prior to scheduled deadlines.
Ensure that team meetings are scheduled and coordinated on a monthly and quarterly basis, or as otherwise directed by the Manager.
Manage the use of the employee recognition program Achievers and ensure that employees are registered and are participating.
Mentor and partner with Costume Operations Supervisors, ensuring they are meeting job requirements while offering opportunities for development.
Aid in planning the costume operation's daily labor budget, non-labor budget, costume distribution flow and team member development.
Assists the Manager in hiring, training and development of dressers, wigs, and skilled craft staff.
Responsible for managing employees by setting clear work expectations and leadership standards.
Assist in the development of the front-line employees and supervisory team.
Ability to provide consistent and timely feedback to hourly and salaried staff to ensure effective communication *** ween management and front-line staff.
Develop and implement programs to improve internal guest and employee satisfaction.
Develop and implement safety standards to reduce and prevent Injury & Illness cases.
Oversee employee reviews and counseling to ensure all guidelines and policies are followed regularly.

Summary:

Working in a collaborative production team environment, Technical Management is accountable for Technical Design and installation integration for all, or portions of show production support and staff as assigned regarding design, development, fabrication, installation, facility interface, operation, maintenance, and documentation in compliance with codes, and jurisdictional requirements for Entertainment projects. Must assure a flawless, and successful completion in alignment with creative, financial, and schedule targets for live shows, atmosphere offerings, and special projects in a themed environment. The Assistant Technical Manager participates in these functions at a variety of levels, depending upon the individual project scope/need:

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide direct management of project initiatives in all, or portions of areas as assigned related to technical show production, and strategy for project execution including Architecture and Engineering, equipment/systems, construction, scenic, electrical, A/V, and various other technologies.
Work as a direct contact with compliance agencies (Building and Safety, Fire Department, EHS, etc.) specifically responsible to coordinate plan reviews/submittals, permitting, inspections, and documentation, for all required permitting measures.

Work directly with various internal and external show disciplines and provide technical expertise for development and execution.
Assist Technical Manager in preparing clear and concise scope of work documentation for use in contracts
Provide technical drafting/design
Ensure final product meets established artistic, production and compliance standards.

Job Description

The Director of EHS will be assigned feature productions to ensure overall compliance with all applicable company, federal, state, local and/or international environmental, occupational safety and health policies, rules, and regulations. Additionally, the Director of EHS will provide guidance and support to fellow EHS Managers as they encounter difficulties in their own feature safety oversight.

Implement, maintain, and develop appropriate safety programs, (e.g., Injury and Illness Prevention Program) policies, and procedures as necessary to ensure a safe and healthful work environment for all employees and guests of the productions.
Communicate with Production Executives, Production Management, Cast, Crew to ensure that all EHS expectations are being met.
Establish, administer, and enforce a program of safe practices for all production personnel.
Ensure appropriate pre-lease inspections are conducted for all potential production spaces and resolve any identified EHS issues.
Conduct a review/breakdown of each script on their assigned film to identify potential EHS issues (e.g., special effects, stunts, use of props, unusual activities, and hazardous locations).
Participate and often attend each production's tech scout and production meeting, as necessary, to understand scheduled production activities and provide guidance for any safety issues.
Prepare a location safety memo, as required, to inform the production employees of general location safety issues as well as specific location safety concerns.
Establish and implement procedures for proper hazardous waste accumulation and disposal following company policies.
Assist the production in following company's hazardous waste procedure and that manifests are collected and submitted in a timely manner.
Facilitate and/or conduct EHS testing of any location that presents potential EHS hazards (e.g., testing water quality, air quality, coordinating abatement and/or encapsulation of areas or materials).

Review Benchmark ESG GenSuite Audits, Events and Inspections to ensure that they are being properly entered and that all findings are resolved in a timely manner.
Review Injury and Illness log data to identify trends and recommend program development and/or training to aid in reduction of workers' compensation claims.
Report promptly to company management any serious injury or incident that triggers federal, state, and/or local reporting regulations informing them of the details of the event and schedule of follow-up activity.
On cases reportable to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or other regulatory agencies, work with Production Management, production representatives and regulatory agency to resolve identified safety issues.
Review investigations of accidents, incidents, significant events and emergencies conducted by production to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations. Advise production of changes to prevent recurrence.
Ensure loaned equipment issued to productions are tracked and that equipment is returned or replaced promptly.

The Assistant Manager, Audio/Video Creative Development - is responsible for overseeing the onsite design implementation, installation, and operation of audio/video systems of assigned Entertainment projects of various scale, to include marquee events, park theatrical entertainment, press events, and special projects, while also handling inventory and logistics of Entertainment audio/video assets.
