Job Summary/Description:

Connecticut's #1 TV station is looking for a News Producer with a vision, a passion, and a plan. Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Produce daily newscast
- Conceptualize newscast rundown
- Collaborate with EP, field crews, and assignment desk to determine content of the newscast
- Write scripts
- Research stories
- Pitch story ideas
- Participate in editorial meetings
- Preview material before air
- Work with reporters and directors on innovative production elements
- Create compelling graphics
- Incorporate and coordinate breaking news
- Work to constantly improve and evolve look and execution of newscasts
- Execute show from control room
- Meet all show timing requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience: One to two years of producing or production support experience for a television, cable, or college station.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

- Experience using ENPS, internet production tools, and Edius a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule and work as a member of a team.
- Must possess an advanced understanding of newscast presentation.
- Must possess excellent writing and graphics skills with the ability to provide an interesting and substantive product.
- Must be results-oriented.
- Ability to focus on coordination of daily and long-range segments from first contact to on-air products. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a creative, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
- Previous experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred.
- 10 % Travel Required (Approximate)

Job Summary/Description:

**** is looking for a part-time anchor/reporter to join the Eyewitness News team with hours as needed to include nights, early mornings and/or weekends. **** is looking for an anchor/reporter who can do it all: jump on breaking news, whip up smart and engaging stories, pressure institutions to answer tough questions, and deliver compelling profiles. We're looking for a team player — a candidate who can range widely across topics related to what we do best, local news. This anchor will excel at writing and should come with ideas, while also being eager to take on assignments. They will develop newscasts to attract the largest available audience to the station’s segment, along with covering news in the field and editing and/or rewriting as needed.

The News Anchor/Reporter is an on-camera presenter for newscasts which will attract the largest available audience to the TV station and its digital platforms. The Anchor also reports news in the field, writes stories and edits, and/or rewrites copy when needed. Write and post to digital and social *** pages. Anchors streaming coverage in addition to traditional broadcasts. This position works with Producers to create newscasts and streaming news coverage.

The ideal candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with clients and assigned/designated agencies through frequent contact in person and by telephone and to promote the station and sell Core Digital, Extended Digital, OTT, and Broadcast Commercial Spot. One must prepare sales presentations to sell digital and commercial airtime utilizing available in-house ratings, research materials, knowledge of the advertisers and agencies and their advertising needs, knowledge of the local marketplace competition, and available station assets.
