****-TV, the *** affiliate in Manchester, NH has a part-time opening for an Associate Producer. You will assist producers in all aspects of producing a newscast. This will include writing stories, creating graphics, researching information, and using and editing video. Associate Producers also make phone calls to gather information about stories. In addition to writing for our broadcasts, our associate producers are also assigned to write/post stories and video daily to our website and mobile app and social *** sites. You will report to the Executive Producer and will be put on a path to become a newscast producer. NH Chronicle Reporter

****, *** Television's *** affiliate in Manchester, NH, has a rare opportunity at one of the country's only evening magazine shows. We are searching for a reporter for our program, New Hampshire Chronicle. The successful candidate must have a passion and demonstrated talent for long form storytelling. You must know how to seek out a compelling story and make it sparkle through your great writing and producing. You will conduct active and engaging interviews, be a champion of strong visuals and sound and be a team player - working closely with videographers, editors and producers to create pieces that shine. You must have an engaging and personable on-air presence and be as comfortable on camera as you are off. A knowledge of the people, places and things that make New Hampshire great is a plus.

We are looking for a team player who understands the flexible schedule that the broadcast industry requires to join our production crew. You will be responsible for operating cameras, teleprompter, audio-board, graphics and video equipment related to live broadcasts and post-production. You will work with our production team to guarantee a successful broadcast is produced.

Responsibilities

• Operate cameras and studio floor directing
• Move and handle props and sets during productions
• Construction, maintenance, installation and operation of props, cameras, prompters, sets and other production equipment
• Lighting and script preparation for newscasts
• Maintain appearance of *** including cleaning of set and floors
• Understand and maintain lighting grid and control board
• Climb ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixtures on the grid
• Edit syndicated promos for air and web content using Adobe Premiere
• Assist the directors

Digital Content Editor

Responsibilities

• Write/edit and publish breaking news, daily news, sports, weather, and feature stories for the station's website, mobile and social *** platforms
• Write compelling headlines
• Collaborate with Reporters and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted quickly
• Work with Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross promotion of content across all platforms
• Manage LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking news

John DiStaso Political Fellowship

The John DiStaso Political Fellowship is a one-semester paid position at *** *** affiliate ****-TV in Manchester, NH. Our Fellow will work closely with members of our political team on several projects including daily political coverage, our 2022 and 2024 election-related coverage, and our weekly political show, "CloseUP". The Fellowship will be awarded to a motivated junior or senior in college who is interested in pursuing a career in political journalism.

More about John DiStaso

John DiStaso was the most experienced political journalist in New Hampshire. He was often referred to as the "dean" of New Hampshire's political press corps. John died from complications of pancreatic cancer on April 21, 2022, at the age of 68. Throughout his career, DiStaso interviewed four sitting presidents and countless presidential candidates while covering 11 New Hampshire primaries. John spent much of his career working for New Hampshire's largest newspaper, "The Union Leader". He spent the last seven years of his career working for ****, where he wrote daily for ****.com regularly breaking stories. He also often appeared on ****-TV to provide analysis for political stories.

The opportunity

In this political fellowship, you'll play a meaningful role on the experienced political team of ****. You'll follow in John's footsteps working on daily political coverage. You'll learn from John's enduring legacy, as well as the experienced political team at **** to gain the knowledge and experience to launch a successful career in political journalism.

How to qualify

• Working toward a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Journalism, Communications or a related degree
• Experience in journalism through internships or college ***
• Goal to work in the field of journalism
• Excellent writing and research skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Deadline driven
• Willingness to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
• You also need to have a strong academic record, and two recommendations from faculty or internship supervisors
