Your New Role...
WB Games is looking for an Operations Manager for its User Research team with a strong interest in supporting the day-to-day work of the research team.
As the Operations Manager, your focus is on maintaining and expanding the infrastructure of the research team's daily operations. The ideal candidate is motivated to support their team with lab and tool maintenance, recruitment, communication, and resources to maximize the effectiveness of the research team, enabling research leads to do their best work. This role reports to the Director of User Research.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Oversee and develop research labs at multiple sites to support numerous research projects globally:
- Onboard, supervise, and oversee the training of research operations staff, including those supervising remote labs.
- Manage the scheduling and productivity of research labs across multiple sites.
- Conduct or oversee regular maintenance of the research labs' hardware (computer stations, research tools) and software (licenses, updates) to ensure the team can meet research goals.
- Continuously seek ways to expand and improve the research labs' tools and processes, such as video streaming capabilities, new hardware for capturing additional insights, and solutions for remote playtesting.
- Identify any storage or equipment needs and take charge of purchasing necessary equipment and similar items.
- Assist in advocating for proper resources and processes with key stakeholders.
- Create and maintain documentation for our in-lab tools.
- Be the primary owner of the recruitment process for WB's User Research studies including:
- Expanding the breadth and depth of the participant database.
- Improving the quality and validity of our participants.
- Generating quarterly audits on the overall number of participants used, broken down by project and focus.
- Track the finances of the user research team including authoring regular reports on project spend.
- Ensure we have the adequate resources to execute vendor agreements and coordinate with vendors to meet required deadlines.
- Manage legal document pipeline and policies and keep up to date with any guidelines from the legal team.
Qualifications and Experience...
- Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience and success, required (e.g., business administration, operations/project management, or related field preferred).
- Prior Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in a related operations role, ideally in user research.
- Skills:
- Experience with setting up and troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Experience handling vendor relations and agreements.
- Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Genuinely enjoy gaming in all forms.
The Nice to Haves...
- Knowledge of the development process for video games is a plus.
- Knowledge of database and/or inventory management software is a plus.
- Phone Banking, Customer Service, or higher-level Retail experience a major plus.
- Research background is not required, but knowledge of it is a plus.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of *** Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $93,100.00 - $172,900.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, *** Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
