About the Role & Program
Our *** 11 Internship Program with the *** 11 Troubleshooter is designed to provide a student with in-depth and hands-on experience trying to resolve viewers' issues with business and consumer-related problems! The intern will also work very closely with *** 11 Troubleshooter Diane Wilson.
What You Will Do
From rip-offs to consumer investigations, our intern will develop their editorial judgement and research skills by reviewing consumer problems. A typical day includes writing emails to the business or company involved in the story, plus confirming the required information and data to move forward to investigate the claim. The intern partners with our *** 11 Troubleshooter in writing and crafting the story for multiple platforms.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Current class standing of sophomore, junior or senior.
- Strong academic record.
- Committed and available to work for the entire length of the internship.
- Must demonstrate knowledge or current events and/or consumer news.
- Able to work in a fast paced, multi-platform and deadline driven environment.
- The ability to work well on teams and collaborative efforts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective communication skills are essential, along with strong writing and video editing skills.
- Familiarity with long form TV and video production.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Major or previous coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, *** Law or related major
- Proficient in Zoom meeting coordination

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a *** College Program or *** Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a *** internship or program.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- The approximate dates of this internship are August 2024 through January 2025
- All candidates must be willing to work 20 hours/week (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor)
- Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Durham, North Carolina area
- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the North Carolina area
