**** YOU'LL DO:
- Planning, Design and Construction of new engineering projects as directed by Director of Network Engineering.
- Preparation and timely delivery of required status information and reports.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and general public.
- Coordinate with Director of Network Engineering on status of all projects.
- Timely documentation of existing systems and new systems to be implemented.
- Maintenance and repair of all technical equipment in Studio, Network Operations Center, *** Ingest, and Uplink/Downlink facilities.
- Additional systems are HVAC, UPS, and Generators.
- Available as needed 24/7 to provide timely response to emergency network off-air situations, equipment issues, transmitter issues, etc.
- Lead technical engineering, implementation, and maintenance of satellite facilities for network uplink and downlink.
- Perform surveys of satellite facilities and provide recommendations and training for optimal operation.
- Design & manage multiple network feeds for satellite distribution.
- Design & manage redundant encoder network.
- Perform implementation and maintenance of MPEG compression and multiplexing.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
**** YOU'LL NEED:
- BS Degree in Computer Science preferred or comparable experience/education
- 5 years relevant experience
**** YOU'LL BRING:
- Proficiency in DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards and operation
- Proficiency in satellite operations (Link Margin, Eb/N0, output power, heating)
- Proficiency in remote uplink operations
- Proficiency in network operations
- Proficiency in MPEG compression systems
- Extensive knowledge of baseband audio/video, digital audio/video, IP networking systems, electrical power systems (AC/DC), and Telco systems are necessary
- Crispin Automation experience and Vantage workflow experience is a plus
- Strong oral and written communications and highly developed organizational skills required
- Must have extensive range in lifting/carrying and be able to remove and install technical equipment
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
- On-call availability
