Job Summary/Description:

29NEWS is currently in search of a digital news producer who has a strong interest in news, can work efficiently on breaking news stories, and has the ability to craft engaging and compelling narratives. The digital news producer will be responsible for writing, reporting, and editing news stories, generating story ideas, creating unique social *** posts, and seeking opportunities to feature exclusive content for our streaming platforms.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, producing dynamic written content for 29News' website, social *** , and apps. The ideal candidate will be a journalist with strong writing skills who creates news content across all digital platforms. They are an innovative self-starter who beats deadlines and the competition handles pressure, and strives to be first and best with the story. The right candidate must have a passion for local and national news and excel at writing and creating content for all digital platforms.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum requirements include a college degree in journalism or similar, outstanding writing ability, excellent communication, self-motivation, and organizational skills. Must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The successful applicant also will have these attributes below (but not be limited to) the requirements below.

- Excellent writing and copy-editing abilities in adherence with AP Style guidelines
- Video editing skills
- Demonstrated video sourcing and production abilities
- Familiarity with content management systems
- Demonstrated ability to adjust strategy and implementation based on evolving needs
- Ability to work with others to achieve a common goal
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to tailor content production to target specific distribution platforms, including social ***

Job Summary/Description:

****-TV in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia is looking for a multi-skilled producer for our dominant number one weekday morning newscasts. This opportunity will have you producing the sunrise shows, fronting stories during those newscasts, and stepping in as a fill-in anchor on the highest-rated newscasts in the market. 29News is the most award-winning TV news operation in the state and plays much bigger than our market size. We’re looking to hire smart, hard-working, team players.

Duties/Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Create and showcase on-air content utilizing strong editorial, journalistic, organizational, and communication skills
• Work closely with news managers, anchors, and weather departments in determining content needs and how to most effectively deliver on those needs
• Writing clearly for multiple platforms on tight deadlines demonstrating creativity and strong editorial judgment while following journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Create significant, original, locally-focused stories for ****'s digital platforms

Qualifications/Requirements:

The successful applicant's background must include, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field. Must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing.
