Job DescriptionThe Production Finance Accounting Clerk supports the SVP Production Finance, liaises with film productions, and processes payments thru internal *** U systems. The position deals with highly confidential financial and proprietary information and interacts with all levels of the Studio including Senior Management, Physical Production, Post-Production, VFX, Tax, Development, Business Affairs, Legal and other business units of the Company.
Essential Responsibilities: - Prepare pre-production payroll and production prep period accounting documents
- Assist in the gathering and submission of tax documents necessary for vendor setup and proper tax reporting.
- Assist in forecasting production funding for Production Finance
- Reconcile cash actuals for Production Finance for submission to the FP&A group
- Update production incentive forecast and analysis for various projects
- Work with Comcast Treasury to open production bank accounts
- Establish foreign exchange spreadsheets, estimate FX currency gain/loss, coordinate forward currency purchases with Treasury
- Manage production wire transfers and various invoices with follow up and confirmation
- Maintain a log of all production wire transfers
- Establish new show accounting office set up
- Prepare and send new show production packets & system orders
- Interface with all production accounting offices
- Assist with update of Production Status Report
- Prepare journal entries for studio charges
- Research studio costs and obtain backup
- Distribute all incoming production accounting reports and related documents
- Update and distribute various internal Production Finance reports
- Serve as Studio point of contact for questions from production regarding general company policies and procedures
- Serve as a back-up for more sophisticated functions in the absence of the more senior Finance executives that it supports
- Organize travel and reconcile T&L expenses
- Provide administrative support to the SVP Production Finance
- General office maintenance, including filing of confidential documentation
- Assist and/or coordinate other special projects as required (for example: funding reconciliations, bank reconciliations, implementation of new procedures, etc)
Qualifications- 2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-volume administrative role within the entertainment industry, with some analytical responsibilities
- Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous Production Experience (television or film) preferred.
- Knowledge of any industry specific accounting or scheduling programs a plus.
- Motivated, extremely organized and detail oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality for highly sensitive materials and details is key
- Strong follow through and able to anticipate issues before they arise
- Ability to multitask and juggle many competing priorities efficiently
- Excellent critical thinking skills
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be willing to join the L174 Union
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an *** Universal-designated worksite.
Wage: $29.75/hour
