This role is responsible for delivery across WBD of all statutory, audit, outsourced accounting and compliance matters for Singapore/Taiwan/ China and Hong Kong.
Areas of Responsibility
General Accounting
- Period Close Deliverables and Reporting
- Close calendar / Monthly P&L review and analysis Review and provision of variance analysis for month end results
- Timely completion of month end deliverables relating to divisional responsibilities
- Coordination of treasury related functions for responsible countries
- Regular review and management of cash balances and accounts / facilities. This includes responsible for IC reconciliations and funds settlement
- Maintain effective internal control environment ensuring controls are compliant with various territory requirements and WBD SOX policy
- Responsible and oversee accuracy of balance sheet reporting activity including review of balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet footnote disclosures; conduct periodic balance sheet review updates with Finance partners
- Handling System report issues in co-ordination with technical team
- Accurately handling reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders
- Coordinate with other team members to reconcile identified variance, adjustments to be made
- Assist in various global/ department initiatives, such as system migration and Account Reconciliation Harmonization
- Collaborate with other team members from Studio Controllership
Statutory Reporting
- Lead Statutory reporting for assigned territories.
- Supporting third party provider on preparation and drafting of statutory accounts for all local reporting entities
- Coordinator and principal point of contact for external auditors
- Proactively manage internal audits and external filing process through on-going engagement and communication with direct manager and team.
- Manage the annual statutory Financial Statement audits with PwC for various WBD legal entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP
- Coordinate *** ween auditors (PwC), Controllership and local outsourced accounting firms to maintain a calendar of deliverables and deadlines for WBD subsidiaries' local statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure all reporting is and timely, and in line with company policies
Areas of Accountability
- SME for Singapore/Taiwan/ China and Hong Kong statutory reporting and compliance
- Regular interaction with offshore accounting groups in a matrixed organization
Selection Criteria
- Fully qualified Accountant - CPA/MBA
- Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting
- Experience and familiar with China statutory accounting
- US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Familiar with China tax compliance is desirable
- Experience working with outsourced financial functions is desirable
